Durga's Distant Cousin

This is not Durga the Hindu Goddess it is a Goddess that I made up but I really do like Durga a lot.
A well as being the wife of Shiva and raising four kids (Karttikeya, Ganesh, Saraswati, and Lakshmi) Durga also had a stunning career slaying demons, and that was thousands of years before feminism.

No wonder she needed so many arms.

The most famous text describing her and her life is Devi Mahatmyamand. One quote describes her: "Though she is eternal, the goddess becomes manifest over and over again to protect the world"
